Who are you?

The Design Engineer role is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of K- Hart's farm equipment. This role focuses on creating practical, reliable, and innovative solutions that perform in real-world farming conditions. You enjoy working hands-on with equipment, translating ideas into functional designs, and collaborating with manufacturing and test teams to bring products to life. You are detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and motivated by seeing your designs perform in the field.

What will you do?

  • Develop system and component designs to meet set objectives of performance, cost, durability, etc.
  • Develop CAD models, drawings, specifications, schematics, and other supporting information.
  • Perform Engineering analysis of designs using hand calculations and simulation software(s) to confirm design capabilities.
  • Select materials, manufacturing processes and vendors.
  • Design and support prototype(s) build and testing.
  • Support production build.
  • Support development of product and service-related publications.
  • Able to travel 10% of the time for 1-2 weeks at a time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologist Diploma (Mechanical or Agricultural preferred).
  • Experience in design of agricultural or heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
