What will you do?

• Development, training and review of BVI's Safe Work Procedures and Job Hazard Analysis
• Development, training and review of BVI's machine lockout and safeguarding requirements
• Development and training of BVI safety policies/procedures
• Practical evaluations related to safety training programs
• Participate in, record and file safety audits
• Assist with accident/incident investigations
• Maintain and file pre-use inspection reports
• Become a first aid responder
• Ensure required monthly and annual safety inspections are performed
• Complete plant wide safety surveys
• Administration of the MSDS program

What do you need to succeed?

• Minimum of three years Health and Safety experience
• Graduation from a recognized Health and Safety program is mandatory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid knowledge of current safety legislation and workplace safety and health practices and procedures
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to coach and consult effectively and maintain comprehensive and cohesive records
• Ability to multitask and manage many projects at once in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft software programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
