Human Resources Generalist (1 Year Term)

Who are you?

Bourgault Industries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to lead recruitment efforts, facilitate interviews, and support HR operations including employee engagement, event planning, and other administrative duties related to benefits and payroll. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building a positive workplace culture. This position will be temporary from approximately December 2025 – January 2027.

What will you do?

  • Support recruitment activities and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Lead and facilitate interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in career fairs and recruitment events to help attract potential candidates.
  • Prepare and organize HR documentation and internal communication to support HR operations.
  • Coordinate employee social and appreciation events.
  • Collaborate with HR team to support the administration of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries.
  • Provide support with payroll and benefit tasks and projects.
  • Other HR projects as determined by the HR Manager, based on the department's strategic goals.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Payroll is preferred. Entry level candidates may also be considered.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, across all levels of the organization as well as with external individuals.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 for documentation, reporting and communication, as well as Adobe applications.
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity when working with sensitive data, ensuring privacy and compliance with company policies.
  • Familiarity with recruitment processes.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to shift priorities and address the unique HR needs of a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with others, support fair hiring practices, and foster a positive company culture.
  • Able to approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, adapts to changing priorities, and contributes ideas to improving HR processes and employee experiences.
