What will you do?

  • Diagnose problems and repairs shop equipment including machines, tools and forklifts.
    May require welding
  • Respond to work order requests
  • Perform preventive maintenance on company vehicles, machines and tools
  • Perform facility maintenance/janitorial including air conditioning, yard maintenance, snow
    removal, repair water and sewer lines, and move/install/maintain office equipment
  • Perform minor electrical tasks
  • Review, monitor and maintain daily/monthly inspection sheets on company equipment
    and tools
  • Assist with plant layout changes. Coordinate equipment changes and utility hook-ups
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout tasks as needed and complete required documentation
  • Schedule and communicate with outside contractors
  • May source suppliers and inventory for tools and parts
  • Uses independent judgment for processes utilized to determine whether equipment is to
    be repaired or replaced
  • May assist other departments as needed
  • Train other team members
  • May act as lead of department

What do you need to succeed?

  • Knowledge and familiarity with machine shop equipment, shop tools, cranes, forklifts,
    auto vehicles, welding machine, hoists and air compressors
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment and repairs, plumbing, basic HVAC, pneumatic
    required
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to read and interpret operation and parts manuals
  • Ability to operate a forklift, man lift and overhead cranes
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs alone and 100 lbs with assistance
  • Able to prioritize and manage workloads and schedules
  • Able to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
