Who are you?
The Red Seal Machinist is responsible for producing high-quality parts using CNC and manual machines, ensuring compliance with specifications and production requirements. This role requires advanced machining knowledge, technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of precision and quality.

What will you do?
- Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequences of operations.
- Set up and operate various machines, including CNC tools, lathes, and milling machines, to manufacture precision components.
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces for subsequent machining.
- Ensure workpiece dimensions meet established tolerances and quality standards.
- Detect and adjust for equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, reporting issues to the supervisor as necessary.
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools to industry standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
What do you need to succeed?
- Red Seal Machinist certification with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings with a solid understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code, M-code) is an asset.
- Strong math skills, including geometry and algebra, for calculating material fabrication.
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing work environment and handle competing demands.
- Excellent analytical skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive team attitude.
