What will you do?
- Analyze and understand technical information, including engineering drawings, product specifications and operational procedures.
- Produce various types of illustrations, such as line drawings, exploded views, cutaways and 3D renderings, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and illustrating software (Adobe Illustrator).
- Obtain research material for all stages of development, visit manufacturing/production areas to view the systems or equipment to be illustrated in person.
- Discuss illustration requirements with technical writers, engineers and subject matter experts.
- Write and update manuals, kits, bulletins and campaigns.
- Take photographs and edit items required for publications.
What do you need to succeed?
- Completion of a university and/or college program in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or a related discipline.
- Two (2) or more years work experience preferred.
- Familiar with illustrating software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Familiar with manufacturing environment.
- Creative thinking skills.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to multitask, working on several projects within tight timelines.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ideal candidate would be mechanically inclined, proficient in the use of the following:
- Autodesk – Inventor (3D CAD)
- Autodesk (AutoCAD)
- ISODraw
- Adobe Illustrator
- Photoshop
- InDesign
