Agricultural Service Technician

Who are you?
The Agricultural Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality in-field repairs and updates, technical support and service for K-Hart's agricultural machinery. This role involves supporting dealers and customers, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining various types of K-Hart's agricultural equipment, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently and effectively. This is a hybrid role, which will also include in-house assembly at times when not needed to be assisting with field support.

What will you do?
- Service and Repair:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment
• Perform in-field and shop service as needed - Technical Support:
• Provide expert advice and technical support to customers, assisting them with equipment issues and ensuring proper operation - Preventative Maintenance:
• Provide training to dealers and customers on proper preventative maintenance techniques - Documentation:
• Maintain accurate service records, including repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
• Prepare detailed service reports and submit them to the management team - Feedback:
• Provide well documented feedback with pictures and descriptions of in-field issues, customer and dealer feedback, customer and dealer suggestions to the assembly, manufacturing and engineering team - Customer Interaction:
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to understand their equipment issues, explain repair processes, and provide updates on service status - Training and Education
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in agricultural machinery.
• Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge - Parts and Inventory Management
• Assist in managing parts inventory, including ordering and stocking necessary components for repairs and maintenance - Quality Control
• The Service Technician will work closely with the Service Manager and their representatives to provide feedback to quality control, help with protocol and procedures, and potentially provide audit and inspection functions both internally and at key suppliers - Assembly
• The Service Technician will work closely with the assembly team, filling in when required. As a hybrid role, the service technician will provide consistent feedback from the field, helping the assembly team understand the importance of assembly protocol, assisting with protocol that improves in-field quality performance, providing manufacturing feedback that will help with quality performance and customer convenience in the operation and maintenance of K-Hart machinery
What do you need to succeed?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- An Engineering Technology Diploma or degree in Agricultural Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in servicing and repairing agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers clearly
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license and the ability to operate various types of agricultural machinery.
