Who are you?

Schulte Industries is currently looking for an experienced Purchaser. This role will report to the Supply Chain Manager.

What will you do?

  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Enter and send purchase orders to vendors as required by reviewing MRP messages
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy of pricing and delivery dates
  • Follow up with vendors to ensure "on time" orders
  • Work with production and warehouse to coordinate shipments efficiently
  • Work within production cell teams regarding the supply of goods
  • Work with the quality department to ensure product meets Schulte standards
  • Assist in the ordering and stocking of MRO items
  • Quote parts as directed
  • Assist in inventory management and work within budgeted levels
  • Monitor inventory to avoid stock out situations
  • Update of system with current pricing and lead times in a timely manner
  • Assist accounts payable with coding of packing slips as needed
  • Obtain training and participate in lean initiatives
  • Assist in maintaining the CTPAT program
  • Other duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Experience with JDE MRP Program, or a similar program
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently with little supervision in a fast paced work environment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Critical thinking skills

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly working in an indoor setting. Some outdoor work in the elements may be required (yard care, etc)
  • Sitting at a desk/computer for extended periods of time
  • Walking, moving around manufacturing plant
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • May be required to travel (infrequently) by automobile and/or common air carrier, with overnight stays a possibility.
  • Hours of Work: 5 days / week, 40 hours
  • Must be willing to relocate to Humboldt/Englefeld area
  • Must be eligible to work legally in Canada
