What will you do?

  • Ensure proper processes are in place to maintain ISO quality standards, also that SOPs, procedures and safety policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Assigns, or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities.
  • Collaborates with the production supervisors in giving work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Ensures adequate training of staff and employee compliance with the organization's policies and practices.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares department budget.
  • Participates in recruitment and hiring efforts, transfer, promotion and disciplinary decisions in collaboration with HR and the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor day to day production, lead problem solving and adjustments to stay on plan with products and efficiency
  • Ensures optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Ensure adequate resources (hourly & salary employees) are in place to deliver the required production
  • Plans and directs all production activities under supervision of Operations Manager and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, raw materials, costs, safety, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved with productions methods, planning, resource allocation, talent management, leadership, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and agency rules associated with product manufacturing and employee health and safety
  • Knowledge of today's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (JDE preferred).
  • Knowledge of budgeting and general accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to a problem.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate/implement options and solutions
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people to perform at their highest potential with the ability to identify and place the best people in the right job.
  • Ability to build and foster effective business relationships with vendors, customers, and other departments within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to formulate and deliver ideas and material in a clear and concise manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily in an office environment indoors with frequent walking in and around a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing plant.
  • May be required to travel (infrequently) by automobile and/or common air carrier, with overnight stays a possibility.
  • Travel within Saskatchewan is required.
  • Hours of Work: 5 days/week, 40 hours
  • Must be willing to relocate to Humboldt/Englefeld area
  • Must be eligible to work legally in Canada
