Based in Saskatchewan and reporting to the Director of Member Development, the ideal candidate will be energetic and enjoy engaging with students and individuals visiting the Careers in Ag Mobile Skills Lab in a variety of locations/events throughout the province of Saskatchewan, and be a resourceful self-starter who can work autonomously and as part of a team. The Mobile Skills Lab (a one of a kind 28 foot custom trailer) will house a variety of experiential learning stations to expose, entice and introduce individuals to the wide variety of possibilities for a Career in the Agriculture industry including (but not limited to): agronomy, farming, marketing and communications, AI, engineering, water/soil conservation, animal health, crop sciences and more!

What Will You Do?

  • Be an open and welcoming host (and Ag ambassador!) to individuals seeking to learn more about the mobile skills lab and provide information to the general public
  • Collaborate with AMC members and academic partners at each scheduled event
  • Attend training to learn each piece of VR equipment
  • Run a variety of virtual reality (VR) equipment
  • Ensure VR equipment is in good working order
  • Coordinate with the Director of Member Development to arrange transport, etc.
  • Communicate with the Director of Member Development regarding any maintenance issues
  • Operate and maintain the generator
  • General maintenance tasks including garbage pickup, litter control, cleaning
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the trailer at all times

What You Need to Succeed?

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license without restrictions and own transportation to travel to rural communities
  • Technical literacy (training will be provided)
  • Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot virtual reality equipment and software (with assistance)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with both internal and external partners and have a positive, customer service oriented attitude and demeanor
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Punctual & extremely reliable
  • Ability to work for 10-12 hours per day at events
  • Greet visitors and provide a positive learning environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to navigate routes from one location to another when traveling to events
