Who are you?

The Design Co-op Student is responsible to assist with all facets of R&D projects, including research, CAD design, prototype development and testing. The Design Co-op Student will assist with projects as well as coordinate work with team members and other members of the company. You must be willing to continuously learn new skills and apply them without supervision. Term for position is from 8 -16-month term.

  • Assist engineers with design and project work as required, following instructions given
  • Using the change management process, create and maintain computer models and drawings of equipment components for all product lines
  • Complete design analysis and design refinement
  • Write and follow through with testing reports
  • Communicate with internal departments as well as outside vendors and customers to create design solutions
  • Identify areas to improve quality, cost and equipment features
  • Follow internal standards and policies

What you need to succeed?

  • Must be enrolled in a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree program
  • Knowledge of Creo or equivalent CAD systems an asset
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, and electrical circuits, pneumatic and structural design
  • Knowledge of and experience with current farming practices and equipment are an asset

Other Information:

  • Primarily a typical office working environment
  • Shop exposure is required during the prototyping and testing phases
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Work is performed in a combination of environments which require the usage of Personal Protective Equipment
  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils
  • Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required
  • Overtime as required
